NABS ADVANCE

Having launched a brand-new commercial offer to the industry in 2021, we have recently added therapist-led psychoeducation group sessions to our suite of packages for companies to buy in for their staff. All profits from this activity will go straight back into our charity, offering further benefit for the wider industry.

JOB PURPOSE

To support NABS in offering psychoeducational, therapist-led group sessions to our community, through product development, delivery, and support with capacity building, where needed. This work will span both NABS charity and the developing commercial offer.

The product content will be underpinned by NABS mission to Advance Mental Wellness in our industry and session topics will be informed by NABS’ insight coupled with your expertise and knowledge.

Core outputs will primarily focus on:

Product development: collaborate with the Wellbeing Services Team (ie The Support and the Learning & Development Teams) to design, write and deliver content for new psychoeducational, therapist-led group sessions for our clients which focus on subjects related to advancing mental wellness

Delivery: psychoeducational sessions delivered online or in person to varying groups from the industry including those from with one organisation, from across multiple organisations or those out of work.

Session write ups: frameworks for therapist-led sessions are produced to ensure any associate therapists can effectively deliver these products on-going

Capacity building: consulting with the Head of L&D as they develop and implement strategies and processes to potentially build team capacity and manage resource efficiently in line with evolving demand.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Lead on therapist-led Product Development to agreed briefs (for up to 8 new products per annum)

· Receive briefs and direction from the Heads of L&D and Support, to develop charity & trading therapist-led products for trial and roll out – agree plans and deadlines together

· Contribute ideas for new therapist-led products or improvements to existing products based on feedback, research, evidence, and best practice

· Ensure that content is accurate and up to date in line with industry trends and research. Utilise internal resource such as NABS’ research findings, including industry surveys and news roundups, as well as outcomes from additional research and consultation with external partners

· Produce session frameworks and relevant learning materials, ensuring:

– All materials are appropriately referenced, and copyright is clearly stated as NABS’, using NABS branding

– Detailed, interesting, relevant content is presented in plain English with use of visuals to ease accessibility.

– Diversity, equity, and inclusion is always considered and that the content has been developed to ensure it is inclusive of marginalised groups, taking an intersectional approach

– All products are grounded in a strong evidence base, e.g. psychology, neuroscience or learning theory and underpinned by the latest research

– Session frameworks have clearly defined objectives and are stimulating yet realistic in terms of pace and complexity (according to intended audience and delivery model)

– The design, look and feel of products reflects NABS’ quality expectations

· Keep a succinct log of all new products and learning materials, providing an ‘at a glance’ view of all headline content

· Report progress to the Head of L&D for all products

· Receive regular Supervision

· Maintain up-to-date public liability insurance

Additional requirements of role:

This role may require travel across London and on occasion within other regions of the UK on a planned basis when in-person delivery is required.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

Essential criteria:

• At least 3 years’ experience as a qualified, accredited therapist and at least 1 year delivering workplace wellbeing products that include engaging and relatable ways to explain psychotherapy concepts, preferably in a business environment with solid evidence of successful outcomes

• Demonstrable experience of:

o developing high-quality, evidence-based psychoeducation content and sessions plans for adult clients, with due consideration to accessibility, including self-care tools for clients.

o holding safe psychological spaces online and in person and facilitating group therapy

o delivering and evaluating effectiveness of session content and approach

• Ability to translate complex information and concepts into easy-to-understand guidance and written materials

• A self-starter with the ability to use initiative and work to tight deadlines in a complex and changing environment

• An understanding of the key components of workplace wellbeing

• Excellent verbal, written and presentational skills

• Thorough knowledge of online platforms such as Zoom and Teams, and experience of using them to deliver online psychoeducational sessions.

• Proficient in using Office software including word, excel and PowerPoint

Desirable criteria:

• Working knowledge or experience of the advertising and/or media industry

• An understanding of current issues and best practice in diversity, equity, and inclusion

• An understanding of data protection and GDPR

• Advanced skills in using design and production software
