A tribute to John Page
John Page, former NABS Treasurer, Peterhouse chairman and long-serving NABS supporter, has sadly passed away after falling ill with cancer.
John, a former financial director at JWT, was a well-respected senior leader in the industry who generously gave so much of his time to supporting NABS.
As Treasurer of NABS, John was warmly regarded as a very safe pair of hands, helping us to successfully continue our mission of supporting everybody in the industry.
Not content to serve NABS in just one role, John was also Chairman of Peterhouse, NABS’ former care home for retired members of the advertising industry. An ardent supporter of Peterhouse, John remained dedicated to the home long after his tenure as Chairman finished, attending all of its events with his wife Marjorie.
Outside of his commitments to work and to NABS, John was a committed and long-time member of the Solus Club, the noted advertising charitable and social society of which NABS is a beneficiary. In his later life he graduated to the Solus Golden Oldies, attending fundraising activities alongside some of the industry’s most celebrated names.
John was also a talented amateur photographer and a past president of the Royal Photographic Society.
Simon Daglish, Chairman, NABS, says: “John has been an invaluable part of the team, giving both his time and expert input without hesitation and always with a careful guiding hand. We are hugely thankful for all his help and he will be sorely missed. Our thoughts are with his friends and family.”
