Managing Anxiety: guided meditation
This is a grounding meditation that will help you to source a place of safety inside your body, where you can feel at home.
This is important because when people experience stress or anxiety, it can be natural to experience a movement of energy from the body to the mind or to start to disassociate. This might look like overthinking a situation, feeling numb or experiencing a lack of connection to our physical body.
Connecting back to our body enables us to become grounded and this meditation, in particular, guides you to find a place of refuge in your own body, which can be incredibly healing. It can be empowering to know that you can return to this internal place of safety at any point you start to feel anxious and no matter what’s going on in the outside world.
Please allow twenty minutes for this meditation. We’d encourage you to find a comfortable place where you will not be interrupted. After the meditation is complete, we’d invite you to gradually start to bring yourself back into the room, with gentle stretches and to have a glass of water.
